Randy Couture

MMA record 15-8-0

Couture debuted in the UFC in 1997 having been involved in the U.S. Olympic wrestling team since 1988. He became the first fighter in the UFC to have held belts at two different weight classes (light heavyweight and heavyweight) and was inducted into the UFC hall of fame in 2006, a year after he had lost his light heavyweight title to Chuck Liddell. Having suffered the first TKO in his career, Couture announced his retirement immediately after the Liddell fight. But in 2007 Couture shocked pundits and delighted fans by announcing his return to the octagon to fight Tim Sylvia for the heavyweight title. At the time Sylvia was the most dominant fighter in the heavyweight division purely cos of is stupid size. Not many gave Couture a chance but on March 3rd, 2007, Randy Couture went all five rounds with Sylvia, dominating every minute of the fight to reclaim the heavyweight championship at the age of 43.
Couture is now poised to defend his title against Gabriel Gonzaga, after the Brazilian won a huge upset victory over Mirko Cro Cop for the number one contender berth
